Meet Saleema: Your Next Dance Instructor

Saleema Berry is a Las Vegas-based dance educator, choreographer, and performer. With over a decade of experience, she specializes in inspiring confidence and building skills in dancers of all ages. Originally from Los Angeles, Saleema moved to Las Vegas with her family in 2010. After completing high school in North Las Vegas, she attended the University of Nevada Reno where she received her degree in English & a minor in Dance. As a dance student at the university she trained in ballet, modern, jazz, and hip hop.  It was during her time in college that Saleema discovered her passion for choreography and she choreographed her first full length piece in 2018 which was adjudicated into the Fall Faculty Showcase. After graduating college in 2018 Saleema became a member of the Reno Empire Heels Team where she also taught dance classes & continued to choreograph. In addition to training, performing, and teaching at Empire's studio she continued to perform in small shows around Reno.  In 2019 Saleema joined her first talent company called VVS where she modeled, and danced for a year and a half before moving back to Vegas. In 2020 Saleema moved back to Las Vegas to be closer to family and train with choreographers from LA. Saleema Berry has taken classes under Complexions Contemporary Ballet Company, Yanis Marshall, Dexter Carr, Jgreen, and many more. She was also a student of the Business of Dance Program led by Dance Mentor Menina Fortunato where she learned valuable skills such as Dance Marketing & how to make stronger dance connections to land better dance jobs.  After joining Menina's program she performed in the Las Vegas Superbowl LV halftime show with Lil Jon, Ludacris, Usher, & Jermaine Dupree. She's also performed with G-Easy, danced under Liezel Marie at the Ignite Basketball Game Halftime Show, performed in the Reno Latin Dance Festival, the Third Coast Dance Film Festival, and Choreographer's Carnival. After three years of being back in Vegas Saleema has now choreographed multiple dances on her students, and peers. In 2023 Saleema  accepted a dance teaching position at Mojave High School where she currently is the dance director, choreographer and Head Coach.
